Coated Steel Corner Air Shower with 30mm Nozzle Mouth Diameter and ≥25m/s Air Velocity

Product Overview

An Air Shower is a purification device installed at the entrance to a cleanroom. When personnel or materials enter, its high‑efficiency nozzles eject a high‑velocity stream of filtered clean air to blow away attached dust particles from surfaces. This reduces the risk of contamination entering the clean area, making it a core barrier for maintaining the cleanroom environment.

How the Air Shower Works

An air shower is customarily installed between the gowning area and the controlled cleanroom area as part of the personnel purification route.

• 1. Personnel Entry
The air shower is entered from the gowning or lower-cleanliness side.
• 2. Door Interlocking
An interlocking system regulates the entrance and exit doors so that both doors cannot be opened simultaneously during normal operation.
• 3. Air Shower Cycle
Directional nozzles discharge filtered air that removes loose particles from exposed surfaces of cleanroom garments.
• 4. Air Recirculation and Filtration
The air circulation system recovers air and routes it through the filtration system following the equipment configuration.
• 5. Cleanroom Entry
After the programmed shower cycle ends, the exit door can be released and personnel proceed into the controlled area.

The actual shower cycle, airflow configuration, filtration arrangement and control logic should be defined according to the cleanroom design and project requirements.

Features at a Glance

• High-Efficiency Particle Removal (Blow-down)

  • Mechanism: When a person or object enters the air shower, powerful fans draw air in and push it through High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) or Ultra-Low Penetration Air (ULPA) filters. This ultra-clean air is then ejected at high speed (typically 20-25 m/s) from strategically placed nozzles on the walls.

  • Effect: The high-velocity jets create a "scrubbing" action that dislodges and removes loose dust, lint, fibers, skin flakes, and other surface particles from clothing, hair, and materials.

• Airlock & Containment Barrier

  • Interlocking Door System: Air showers are equipped with two doors that are electronically interlocked. Only one door can be open at a time.

  • Purpose: This creates a physical barrier that prevents unfiltered air from outside from flowing directly into the cleanroom. It helps maintain the cleanroom's critical positive air pressure, which is essential for keeping contaminants out.

Cleanroom Applications

In most cases, air shower rooms are integrated into the personnel purification route between gowning areas and controlled cleanroom spaces.

Typical application areas include:

• Pharmaceutical production facilities
• Healthcare institutions and medical facilities
• Laboratory rooms
• Semiconductor and electronics industries
• Beverage and food manufacturing
• Cosmetic product manufacturing
• Precision engineering works

Rather than being treated as an isolated equipment component, the air shower configuration should be selected together with the cleanroom layout, personnel flow, cleanliness requirements and operating procedures.

Engineering & Customization Process

• 1. Requirement Analysis
Study the cleanroom classification, personnel flow, available installation space and operating requirements.
• 2. Configuration Design
Choose the air shower type, dimensions, door arrangement, filtration and control settings according to the project.
• 3. Manufacturing
Fabricate and assemble the chamber, filtration system, fan section, doors and control components to the approved configuration.
• 4. Factory Inspection
Inspect the assembled unit, electrical system, door operation, interlock function and other pertinent items before shipment.
• 5. Installation & Commissioning
Support site installation, connection and functional commissioning in line with project requirements.
• 6. Documentation
Provide applicable product drawings, operation instructions, maintenance information and test records.

Testing & Validation

• Visual verification
• Measurement verification
• Test of door operation
• Test of the door interlock
• Fan performance test
• Test of lighting
• Control panel performance test
• Airflow measurement
• HEPA filter integrity check where applicable

Products Description

• Dual-door interlock: When personnel or materials enter, the outer door opens first to access the air shower chamber. The inner door leading to the clean area can only be opened after the outer door is closed, preventing direct air exchange between zones.
• High-velocity airflow jets: Once inside, nozzles surrounding the chamber emit clean air filtered through High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters at a typical speed of 20–28 m/s, directed at specific angles toward the person or object.
• Particle dislodgment: The high-speed airflow effectively removes dust particles ≥0.5 µm attached to clothing or goods surfaces.
• Recirculation filtration: The dislodged particles are carried by the airflow into bottom return vents, filtered again, and recirculated to maintain the cleanliness of the shower air.
